Superintendent Message 11/2/23

Dear CCSD 46 Community,

Late last night, we were informed by the Grayslake Police Department that a Gurnee resident received a random, unsubstantiated threat via a spoofed IP address phone call that a school shooting would take place at a school in Grayslake tomorrow. No specific school was named. According to the police, there is currently no credible or verifiable threat, but out of an abundance of caution, they plan to provide an increased police presence tomorrow morning around our schools. Depending on what we hear from the police tomorrow, we may plan to have indoor recess and PE tomorrow as well. 

Again, there is no credible or verifiable threat. While the unsubstantiated threat is on schools in Grayslake, we have chosen to share this message with families at all of our schools and will take precautions at all of them as well. Safety is always our highest priority.

Estimada comunidad CCSD 46,

Anoche, el Departamento de Policía de Grayslake nos informó que un residente de Gurnee recibió una amenaza aleatoria y sin fundamento a través de una llamada telefónica con una dirección IP falsa. La amenaza indicó que mañana se produciría un tiroteo en una escuela de Grayslake. En el mensaje no se nombra ninguna escuela específica.  

Según la policía, actualmente no existe ninguna amenaza creíble o verificable, pero por precaución, planean aumentar la presencia policial mañana por la mañana alrededor de nuestras escuelas.  

A lo mejor, será posible que mañana también planeemos tener recreo y la clase de educación física adentro mañana.

Una vez más, no existe ninguna amenaza creíble o verificable. Si bien la amenaza sin fundamento está en las escuelas de Grayslake, hemos decidido compartir este mensaje con las familias de todas nuestras escuelas y también tomaremos precauciones en todas ellas. La seguridad es siempre nuestra máxima prioridad.
